SERVICE — LINE ASSESSMENT & TROUBLESHOOTING
Line Assessment & Troubleshooting
Assessment and troubleshooting of existing peripheral IVs, midlines, and PICCs for access-related concerns, including patency and function, within clinician scope and facility policy.
WHAT IT IS
Line Assessment & Troubleshooting
A placed line still needs attention. We assess existing central and peripheral lines for signs of complication, check patency, and troubleshoot issues like occlusion or suspected malfunction — extending the useful life of a line already in place.
WHEN IT’S USED
Common reasons facilities call us in.
- Scheduled assessment per facility protocol
- Suspected line malfunction or sluggish flow
- Concern for infection at the insertion site
- Line assessment ahead of a planned procedure or discharge
- A second opinion before pulling and replacing a line
